Roller Coaster Ride

Roller Coaster Ride

Met with oncologist at Cancer Health Treatment Centers, P. C. in Valparaiso, IN.  Oncologist believed that PET scan results were looking good and his estimate changed to 20% that it was cancer and 80% chance that it was B.O.O.P (Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonia) but needed to have a biopsy performed.  I had a great sigh of relief but knew I was to have counsel with an Oncologist at the University of Chicago and wanted a second opinion.

On August 17, 2016 I met with Thoracic and Lung surgeon at the University of Chicago and his prognosis was 95% lung cancer.  What an emotional roller coaster ride.  They wanted to set up for a biopsy.  I informed the Dr. about my review with the oncologist in Valparaiso but he stated he was certain it was lung cancer but a biopsy was needed to be positive, but even if the mass wasn't cancerous, it would still need to be removed.
